Inclusive Access

Accessibility Statement

This website is designed with reference to GIGW 3.0 principles so that information remains usable by everyone.

Our Commitment

Accessibility measures in place

  • Semantic structure

Pages use landmarks, a single main heading and an ordered heading hierarchy.

  • Keyboard navigation

Every menu, filter, dialog and gallery item can be reached and operated with a keyboard.

  • Visible focus

A high-contrast focus outline is shown on every interactive element.

A skip link is the first focusable element on every page.

  • Text resizing

Text can be enlarged to 125% from the accessibility control without loss of content.

  • Colour contrast

Text and interface colours are chosen for adequate contrast, with a high-contrast mode available.

  • Not colour alone

Status and category information is always accompanied by text or an icon.

  • Alternative text

Photographs carry descriptive alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.

  • Accessible dialogs

Notice, event and gallery dialogs trap focus, are labelled and close with the Escape key.

  • Reduced motion

Animation is suppressed when the operating system requests reduced motion.

  • Responsive layout

Content reflows to a single column on small screens with no horizontal scrolling.

  • Touch targets

Interactive controls meet a comfortable minimum touch size on mobile devices.

Assistive controls

The accessibility control in the site header allows visitors to increase or decrease text size and to switch on a high-contrast presentation. These preferences apply immediately across the website.

Standards reference

This website has been designed with reference to GIGW 3.0 principles and widely accepted web accessibility practice. It is not certified under any accessibility scheme, and accessibility is reviewed on a continuing basis as content changes.
